John Aukstolis Obituary & Death: It is with deep sorrow that we share the tragic passing of John Aukstolis, a cherished chef instructor in Johnson & Wales University’s College of Food Innovation & Technology (CFIT). John was truly an ambassador for the university and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

John Aukstolis’ Dedication and Legacy

John Aukstolis was a dedicated faculty member at Johnson & Wales for nearly 30 years. He was known for his unwavering loyalty and love for his students, faculty colleagues, and the university. John was first and foremost an advocate and champion for his students. Over the years, he served as an advisor to many student clubs, most recently the Afro-Centric Food and Culture Club and the JWU Rowing Club.

Dean Evans shared heartfelt words, stating, “John Aukstolis was one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever met; a genuinely remarkable man whose impact at Johnson & Wales will prove immeasurable. He was a beloved teacher who always put his students first and made them feel at home.” Indeed, the culinary world and the Johnson & Wales University community will profoundly miss him. Chef John Aukstolis was a pillar of the Johnson & Wales Culinary program.
