The terrible incident occurred on Long Island when an SUV struck Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park. While Emilia, who was off duty at the time, was getting her nails done, the SUV crashed into the salon. Emilia Rennhack, 30, was one of four people killed in the accident, along with Jiancai Chen, 37, of Bayside, Queens; Yan Xu, 41, of Flushing, Queens; and Meizi Zhang, 50, also of Flushing, Queens. Nine other people were hurt, including a 12-year-old girl.

The SUV’s driver, Steven Schwally, is facing charges of driving while intoxicated. Schwally remains in the hospital, and charges are pending in connection with the event. According to sources, his vehicle crossed Grand Boulevard, entered the salon parking lot, and slammed through the windows, resulting in the fatal accident.
