Classic Tomato Soup: A Comforting and Flavorful Recipe

In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

In a bowl, mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Add 1 diced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves, sauté until softened.

Stir in 4 cups of diced tomatoes (fresh or canned) and 2 cups of vegetable broth.

Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar to taste.

Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or a dollop of sour cream if desired.
